FAQs

The CGM (continuous glucose monitor) measures glucose in your tissue, not your blood. It’s FDA-approved for over-the-counter use and is a powerful tool to see how well your body moves glucose into your cells. It doesn’t hurt—you won’t even feel it! My husband didn’t believe me until he tried it himself. Plus, I’ll give you insider tips to get the most from your experience.

Not at all. The app is simple, and I provide a short walk-through video to show you everything. You can track your food using paper or a digital form—whatever works for you.

As a first step, yes —because it’s tailored to your goals. You’ll learn the levers that affect fat storage and fat burning, and muscle building, and we’ll design your experiments around what you want to achieve. This is about forming your food foundation, not another cookie-cutter diet.

Nope. You’ll be using your current go-to meals and just tweaking them based on your data. You won’t be locked into recipes or food lists. Instead you will be choosing your own healthy swaps that fit with what you already like and how you already cook.

Only about 20–30 minutes per week for lessons and tracking. Three group sessions are around 60 minutes. You can track just 3 days per week or more if you love the data. (More data, more clarity)

Great! You’ll get to test how real life affects your metabolism—whether that’s restaurant meals, disrupted sleep, or vacation treats.

Compared to other CGM programs ($399–$449 without coaching or community), DDE gives you:

This program is only $497 regular pricing (+ CGM purchase of ~$99 if you do not already have your own).

You can use your own CGM. If you have a prescription CGM for use with Diabetes and/or are diagnosed with Diabetes –  understand that this program is not intended to replace your health care provider’s instruction and guidance and recommendations. 

Nor do we provide any information with regards to insulin dosages. This program provides guided experiments that you choose. 

If the changes made by you have an impact on your blood sugar management – you will want to be in contact with your medical provider to make insulin adjustments as you would if you were doing this on your own.

Prescriptions CGMs can be calibrated and have additional stringent requirements to serve the diabetic population, such as high/low glucose alerts.

The Stelo monitor does not have the alarms for high/low glucose built into the app that are required for CGM for the express management of diabetes. It is NOT to be used to detect/alert/manage hypoglycemia or insulin dosages in any way. 

That being said, if you do not have a prescription CGM, and are simply interested in the information of how the food you eat is affecting your glucose levels, you CAN use the Stelo (reassure your healthcare provider that you will not be relying on it in any way to make decisions with regards to medications). Stelo is a LIFESTYLE tracking tool only. 

No medical decisions should be made based on the use of the device without consulting your healthcare provider. You can set up the app to share the data you collect in the program with your doctor.

You should continue to manage your diabetes in the way you already do based on your doctor’s guidance. For example, if you use a blood glucose meter for determining your insulin, you would continue to do so.

Use of Third Party Continuous Glucose Monitor and Coaching Scope of Practice:

CGM is a valuable tool for managing diabetes, but it’s not a replacement for medical care. This program can help you understand and interpret CGM data, but the coach cannot make medical decisions based on that data. 

CGM use and medical interpretation should be tailored to the individual’s specific needs and under the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider. 

Coach can help you learn about and use continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) as a tool for managing your health. However, all decisions about your medical care should be made in consultation with your healthcare provider. No medical decisions should be made based on CGM data within the program; however, you can share your data with your doctor through a secure portal if you wish (provided by the CGM manufacturer software). If you have any questions about existing diagnoses (e.g. diabetes) or CGM use, please consult with your doctor.
